We are a self-government of doctoral students, acting in accordance with the provisions of the Higher Education Law of the 27th of July 2005.

Our association exists for over 20 years. Our goal is to represent and defend the rights and interests of doctoral students at the Jagiellonian University, and to organize cooperation and mutual assistance of the members. Each PhD student at the Jagiellonian University becomes a member of the Association upon admission for the study.

One of the most important cyclical events organized by the Association is the Science Salon. This is an initiative aimed at popularizing young researchers’ work to a wider audience, as well as improving their public speaking skills, and developing discussions on issues from different fields of science.

Association of Doctoral Students of the Jagiellonian University:

• Publishes "Monograph of the Jagiellonian University PhD Students' Association ". The journal is an area of exchange of ideas both among the Jagiellonian University doctoral students and people from other research centres. All articles published in " Monograph of the Jagiellonian University PhD Students' Association" are peer-reviewed and the journal itself has been included in the scoring list of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
• Supports the best projects through the Competition for the Funding of PhD Students' Activities at the Jagiellonian University.
• Conducts specialized trainings to improve the competences of its members.
• Manages funds for material aid for doctoral students of the Jagiellonian University.
• Organizes trips and integration events, during which discussions about the future of Polish science take place in a friendly, informal atmosphere.
• Cooperates with the Agreement of Doctoral Students of Krakow Universities, the Polish Association of Doctoral Candidates, and the General Council of Science and Higher Education.

In order to popularize the most outstanding scientific and popular scientific achievements of its members, the Association established in 2011 its own Press Office together with the institution of a press spokesperson.
