Prof. Bruno Fiorelini Pereira: Pesticides in Brazil: risks for the environment and human health

Summary: Brazil has become one of the world leaders in the use of pesticides, due to its application mainly in soybean, cotton, corn, beans, sugar cane, among others. Using data from my laboratory I will show the effects of some of these pesticides (1) on the embryonic development of Danio rerio and on the histopathology of the liver and gills (2) on the histopathology of the growth plate of pigs. Considering the current focus of my research group, I intend to show which are the projects that are being carried out in my laboratory, mainly focused on the mixture of different pesticides.
