Wildlife Research Ecology Group focuses on biology and ecology of wildlife game and protected species. Our studies can additionally be applied in the research and management of biological conservation and wildlife.

Main areas of scientific interests include:

  • ecology of mammals
  • conservation problems of rare and threatened species
  • game management
  • synurbanisation of wild animals
  • alien animal invasive species
  • Human-wildlife conflict
  • Assessment of anthropogenic threats to natural environment
  • Non-invasive methods used in field work

 

Currently we are conducting research on:

  • Factors affecting predation rate of free-ranging domestic cats
  • Ecology of reptiles in urban disturbance gradient
  • Camera-trap project in Gorce National Park and Babia Góra National Park
  • Perception of human-wildlife conflict in urban areas
