Scientists from the Institute of Environmental Sciences, JU are once again among the world’s best researchers

Four researchers from the Institute of Environmental Sciences have been listed among the 2% of the world’s best scientists in 2022. The ranking, developed by Stanford University in collaboration with Elsevier and SciTech Strategies, evaluates the overall scientific performance of individual researchers using a bibliometric index.

The 'World Ranking Top 2% Scientists' list presents the names of the most influential researchers, whose publications are most frequently cited by other authors. The scientific achievements of individual researchers from all fields of science are evaluated using a bibliometric index that takes into account such criteria as the Hirsch index, number of citations (including self-citations), impact factor, rank and role in the list of authors.

The creators of the list are preparing 2 rankings. The first one takes into account the achievements of the scientist’s entire career (up to the end of 2021). The second refers to citations from the calendar year, in this case 2021.

The list includes 93 scientists from Jagiellonian University, including four associated with the Institute of Environmental Sciences:
Prof. Dr. hab. Katarzyna Turnau
• Prof. Dr. hab. Jan Kozłowski
• Prof. Dr. hab. Ryszard Laskowski
• Dr. Michał Filipiak
